Before and After … found this at a thrift store for about 20 dollars.
I couldn’t decide at first how I wanted to refurbish it and I thought I wanted to reconstruct it with wood, until I saw what I really wanted…
…this chair was made with inspiration from First A Dream.
I’ll admit I was a little scared of how sturdy this chair would be but it’s not been an issue at all.
I first cut the old straw off with scissors then stripped and sanded the old black paint. This probably took the most time. I worked on it on a couple weekends and after work. Then painted it with color to match the fabric. Fabric I was lucky enough to get from my daughter Katie who by the way is full of inspiration, you can find her at MountainModernLife.com.
I can get lost in the details but later realized it wasn’t really necessary. Probably could’ve finished it faster otherwise.
Oh, and I may as well fess up now … I LOOOOOVE Chairs 🙂 You shall see 😉
